Pre-project Checklist

Check Project Brief

Working with the sales and product development team our first steps would be to talk through a project brief describing the project, specific goals, timeline, and budget requirements.

Check Account Setup

We will need all contact information from you, including names, emails, phone numbers, addresses, and company information.

Check Idea Presentation

Once the project brief is completed, the Milne team will work on an idea presentation to determine the project plan.

Check Project Lab Samples

With the project plan in place Milne will begin development work on your custom samples. Our standard sample size is 1-8oz sample per formula for review.

Check Sample Revisions

For most projects we would expect no more than 3 sample revisions. By creating the project plan, we are able to efficiently develop product offerings that meet your needs and expectations.

Check Formula Approval

Once the sample is approved we are able to finalize the formula and move to our finance and procurement teams. The formal price quote can be generated after the final formulas are approved.

Check Price Quote Presentation

Based on the project plan, we would present a price quote using the batch size requirements, packaging type, and approved formulas from the previous steps.

Check Initial Production

Once the pricing is approved and the purchase order is received, we would expect to plan our first production within 6-12 weeks.

Check Post-Production Micros

After production we would have a 10-day micro hold before being released for shipment.

Check Shipping

Products will be quoted Ex Works. For most applications our customers prefer to arrange their own freight.

Tips for a Successful Project

When working with the custom solutions team at Milne, it is important to set the guidelines for development.

Blending Benefits

Pre-blended products can have a number of benefits including reduced waste and product consistency.

Common Blending Ideas

Filler Juice Vs. Named Fruits

Many products on the market use filler juices such as Apple or White Grape due to their price point and availability. Named fruits can have price volatility and in some crop years can be in short supply. Using natural flavors can be a solution for boosting the flavor profile of named fruits while keeping price points lower.

Benefits of Natural color and Natural flavor

Fruit and vegetable products can vary in color and flavor from crop year to crop year. Using natural colors and natural flavors can help to ensure consistency.
